In this can't we apply the conservation of angular momentum about the point at which the collision happens 

Since if we use that point then any force that is coused during collision passes through that point so produces no torque about that point so why we can't apply conservation of angular momentum 


Plz explain both why or why not we can do this




And also put a reply on my previous doubts on discussion forums

here point of contact at which friction acts does not remain same

But if see from outside it is just a point of space and friction always act through that point so can't we choose such a point in space not on body through which friction always passes

This could have been done if it would have came in contact for an instant just like you have in case of collision or something of that short

In case rolling of sphere or wheel  on a plane surface in absence of any external applied force,no friction acts

The scenario which you have put the page happens before rolling begin and in that case angular momentum is not conserved
